| I've spent 9 to 18 months with nineteen of the most lovable, energetic students a school can have, and it tugs to know the school year will start about a month from now without me in a classroom...
I love this poem by Amy Carmichael.
For Our Children
Father, hear us, we are praying, Hear the words our hearts are saying; We are praying for our children.
Keep them from the powers of evil, From the secret, hidden peril; Father, hear us for our children.
From the whirlpool that would suck them, From the treacherous quicksand, pluck them; Father, hear us for our children.
From the wordling’s hollow gladness, From the sting of faithless sadness, Father, Father, keep our children.
Through life’s troubled waters steer them; Through life’s bitter battle cheer them; Father, Father, be Thou near them.
Read the language of our l o n g i n g, Read the wordless pleadings thronging, Holy Father, for our children.
And wherever they may bide, Lead them Home at eventide. | | |
| And with it, family get-togethers. The Schrocks had a fun few days this week at Dreamwood Lake Lodge. Children, nature, singing, games... and don't forget the food! The place was so relaxing! I'm holding my cousin's baby. She loved the outdoors as much as I did. ..Lila.. We missed this little lady's mama. ..Ydana.. So good to have the Troyer family living in Plain City! ..Joash.. "whatcha gonna do, in a little canoe..." with only ONE oar? zigzag, of course! ..Abigail, Emily, Karen.. We all love Grandma! ..some of the cousins.. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt! ..thanks to Mom for most of the photography.. | | |
| Guess what, fellow Xangans!
I would like to post again. Not just a little, short, "hi, I am alive" sort of post, but a real, live, this-is-me, my-life-in-pictures sort of post.
I Shall. I will. I must post soon.
Until then, I'll leave you with a pic of our staff in Copeland.

| wow...
I thought I'd do a nice long picture post while I was home for Christmas vacation.
Home? I relaxed for less than a week before scurrying hither and thither to enjoy family!
Spent a tiny bit of time with a few of the Schrocks at Grandpas on Christmas Day; a few days with the Esh family at Warsaw Church of God Camp; a day or two at home, then to Florida to meet my new niece! Today was spent with the Hostetlers, and tomorrow I leave for Kansas.
Hope to keep you posted more frequently from now till the end of the year... we now have hi-speed out there so i have no excuse. :)
Have a wonderful new year, everyone!
